Experience ranging from the permitting and design phases through project management and to project completion. He is a recognized expert in the marine construction field and has a breadth and depth of knowledge ranging from individual homeowner boating pier/dock needs to large-scale corporate and commercial pier/dock and seawall projects.
Dale Hickman is also a recognized leader in the use and installation of environmentally friendly marine installations and materials, including recycled and special composites which will not deteriorate or bleed into the environment. He is also a strong advocate in the use of installation techniques which provide minimal or no impact to the environment and that follow the strict Federal, State and Local environmental protection guidelines and restrictions.
As owner of one of the largest and most respected marine contractors in Northwest Florida, Dale’s Marine Construction, Inc., he provides a broad range of services in marine construction projects, including seawalls, retaining walls, marinas, piers, docks, boat lifts/slips, boardwalks, dune crossovers, beach pavillions, and fencing protection (to guard against beach erosion and to protect beach foliage such as sea oats). Dale works effectively with architects, engineers, developers, financial institutions, other contractors, and local-county-state-federal officials, and individual homeowners. He has experienced steady corporate growth, and in the past 5 years has gone from $1M/annum to $4M/annum with nearly 30 full time employees. His project sizes have ranged from several thousand dollars to $1,000,000+.
